Gods Country  Pilgramage & Music Festival 2002

The Gods Country and Music Fest is in its ninth year of bringing Quality, Christian, Entertainment to the St Mary’s Ridge area. The event started the year after the visit of the Holy Father in Denver for The World Youth Day. We felt that this was important to try to keep this faith building experience alive in the upper Midwest area. So with the help of our parish Priest and a few dedicated workers, we had over 1500 attend our first event.

This year our pilgrimage is the 10th and 11th of August. We will be walking 5 to 6 miles, stopping along the way to pray The Stations Of The Cross. When we get to St. Mary’s we will eat, set up our tents and get set for the outdoor presentation.

One of the pilgrims said after his first pilgrimage that when he started walking he felt like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders and by the time he got to St. Mary’s he felt like it had been lifted off.

In talking to a number of people who have attended this event over the years, we find how it has touched and changed their lives in ways we never thought possible. The first and foremost reason we do this event, is to bring Christ into their lives, to get a better understanding of their faith and to be able to witness and to profess it.

As always it is not easy to fund these events and the Gods Country Pilgrimage is dedicated to keeping the cost affordable to all the faithful. We rely on foundations, businesses and individuals for tax deductible donations. Even small donations make a difference and are greatly appreciated. The cost for this event runs about 5000 to 7000 dollars. With your help we will be able to continue  to grow and reach out to more people, especially  our youth that in today’s world need more events like our Pilgrimage to bring Christ into their lives.
